Astræa (Ancient Greek: Ἀστραῖα; "star-maiden" or "starry night")

Emerging artist and producer Astræa creates a world of cathartic and soul-bearing music, embedding her ethereal vocals within a backdrop of piano-led pop surrounded by atmospheric and electronic production. Listed in The Sun’s Sound of 2019 as an artist to watch, the pianist singer-songwriter draws upon influence from classic artists like Tori Amos and Kate Bush with contemporary pop elements reminiscent of London Grammar and Imogen Heap.

Astræa’s voice is instantly recognizable, as her self-produced cover of Olive’s You're Not Alone soundtracked a Lloyds Bank advert in the UK & Ireland. Independently self-released, You're Not Alone charted in iTunes UK Main Charts (#23) & Singer-Songwriter Charts (#2), Spotify UK Viral Charts (#18), and Shazam UK Charts (#6) with 40,000 sales and 3.5 million streams across platforms.

In the summer of 2019, Astræa’s original song Waiting was used in an episode of Love Island. Waiting achieved over 11,000 Shazams in 48 hours, charting in the Shazam UK Top 50 and in the iTunes UK Main Charts (#58) & Singer-Songwriter Charts (#5).

Astræa is already making waves on the London live scene, having sold out her debut headline gig at St Pancras Old Church and playing the majestic St James’s Church Piccadilly in London. Intertwining organic and electronic elements in a lush and emotional set, her live act is one you wouldn't want to miss.
